What Are Ravens and Crows?
Ravens and crows are difficult to distinguish at first glance. Common ravens are larger than American crows and typically fly with a partner, while crows prefer to gather in larger groups. Ravens have larger and curvier beaks and larger bristles (mustache-like hairs) at the base. Crows are highly intelligent and can recognize people’s faces.
Ravens are famed for their intellect, but they are also curious and loyal friends. Despite being labeled as “unkindness” as a group, they are lovely and social creatures.
Do Ravens Bond With Humans?
Research published in 2015 by the journal Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology found that crows are more cautious near strange people than ravens.
They are more at ease among people with whom they have already engaged, nevertheless.
Furthermore, ravens that had previous favorable contacts with experimenters were more likely to connect with them because of their own experiences, and this memory lasted at least one month.
